Lyrie Wang

Biography:

Born and raised in NYC, Lyrie (pronounced “Leer-ee”) developed her expertise in Pilates under the guidance of renowned mentors Ray Kurshals and Barbara Hoon through the Pilates Artists United certification program.

Her journey with movement began at age 3, with a focus on competitive dance throughout her youth and into college. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from WashU, Lyrie embarked on a career in Product Management, where she led teams to develop innovative technology solutions. Yet, her lifelong passion for movement and dance remained central. Since 2019, she has been dedicated to dance education, training, and choreographing for young competitive dancers in northern New Jersey.

Blending her background in leading teams with her deep-rooted love for movement, Pilates became the perfect next step in her career. Having personally experienced the transformative power of Pilates in building strength, balance, and resilience, Lyrie is passionate about sharing these benefits with individuals of all backgrounds.

What to expect from a class with Lyrie:

In Lyrie’s class, you’ll experience the precision and effectiveness of the classical Pilates methodology, ensuring you gain the benefits of strengthening, lengthening, and alignment. However, Lyrie meets the unique needs of the individuals in front of her, adding a contemporary flair to adapt the practice for every body. Her goal is simple: for you to leave class feeling good. She believes Pilates isn’t just about the time spent sweating it out in the studio (though there is no shortage of that) —it’s about walking out with improved mobility, ease, and a sense of freedom in your body that carries into your everyday life.
